This City of Harrisburg Park, beginning construction in the fall of 2022, provides an elaborate playspace for the community. As Playground Designer for Kompan, I worked with City staff, engineers, and citizen feedback to create a Chutes and Ladders themed playground on a challenging, sloped site. Kompan was awarded the project over several other proposals, and the final project came in under their $500,000 budget.

We are now moving to Phase 2 - Tot Lot with candy factory theme and Intergenerational Fitness.

Kompan assisted the architects of record with several Connecticut State projects, which were subjected to stringent reviews. I was the lead designer and created all of the documentation for the review. I worked with the sales representative, architects, and technical manager to create all of the review drawings related to the playground portion of the project including accessibility review, specifications, detailing, footing locations, site furniture, existing landscaping, hardscaping, and safety surfacing. These projects resulted in over $1,000,000 in sales for Kompan and will lead to more future sales as we position ourselves as the experts in this process.

I noticed that this local park in my neighborhood was planning a renovation. I brought the opportunity to the attention of the Kompan sales representative, and using community input and city requirements and goals, we worked together to create a design for this park which holds a special place in my heart. These are preliminary drawings; future renderings will feature the trees and creek, which contribute to the natural feel of the park. Stay tuned for updates!

Equipment selection in these options was personalized as I frequently and for my whole life have cherished this park nestled in the heart of Austin, Texas. For option 1 we created playgrounds with a more classic product selection incorporating post and platform structures with components allowing children to explore, socialize and develop in active outdoor play. This option followed citizen survey engagement of replacing the existing equipment with similar features and a wide variety of activities. In option 2, the product selection shows community requests of more modern play helping train children's cross-coordination and presenting play challenges to make children want to come back time after time. I was able to use design intention and visualize this space more so than I ever have before as it is so close to home. I look to the future where one of these designs will be enjoyed by users each and everyday and knowing I personally made an impact on my old Austin home and heart.

Majority of images in the presentations were designed, presented and constructed by the KWL team.

Contracted by SXSW in 2017 to draw the map for the Outdoor Stage. I spent time in the field before the event and during the event to accommodate permitted needs for the City of Austin and Travis County Fire Marshal.

The Waller Creek Conservancy now Waterloo Greenway presented a public call for design competition in 2010 to create a 1.5 mile park system connecting and intertwining the greenspace with the surrounding community and downtown section of businesses, arts and culture. My graduating semester at Texas Tech University allowed me to fully engulf this design coemption and space as a project of my own. I followed along announcements and idealistic design firms as I presented this project of my own to my peers and educators. I often spend time in Waterloo Park admiring the awarded design imagining as if I had a part in the beautifully executed features myself. I'm eager to see Phase 2 of Waterloo Greenway, The Confluence come to shape. Below are some pieces from this project.
